Devious Journal Entry
Journal Entry: Sat Jan 24, 2004, 10:12 PM
Deviantart needs to be split up into a thousand medium-sized websites so all the artists that really do deserve to get recognition do get it. Right now, it just feels like a celebrity popularity race (with a few exceptions, luckily) - you get up with one image someone seems to like, and then getting comments is a breeze. And even then, out of the 200 replies you get, only 20 or so will actually help you (praise does not help. no, it doesn't).
Ah well, I can't do much. 1000+ DA websites means at least 2000 admins... And even more servers. And so on. Maybe jark, or whoever, needs to write an AI script which will automatically reply to each image and rate it based upon its content. Or maybe we need to hire some midgets to do the replying work for 10 bucks a day...
Anyway, just some food for thought for those selected few who managed to wind up on this page, and actually read the journal.
Hm...

admitedly, the shot is definitely grainy... i was on ISO 400 film at the time and even in the best of lighting conditions, you're bound to get some grain, and the sun was definitely hiding behind a lot of overcast clouds during that shot, so the grain would be a little more pronounced.
I dont see multicoloured grain though, and i added very little saturation (about +5), and that too only to get it up to what the actual photo looks like. but that's what you get when you scan a print though - a definite loss in quality. well, with my scanner anyway. gotta make do as best as i can.

What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.

I agree it would look fantastic with the fellowship marching along that bridge....If I ever come across the right picture of a wizard I must try to manipulate him into the shot.
Cheers again Igor!
